The Argentine Senate will constitute nine commissions between this Wednesday and next Thursday. The commissions that generate the most interest are those considered 'management' commissions, such as General Legislation and Agriculture, which will be led by libertarians. Additionally, the head of the La Libertad Avanza (LLA) bloc, Patricia Bullrich, will resign from the Labor and Social Security Commission, which will once again be led by Carmen Álvarez Rivero. The formation of the commissions will not have the same level of conflict as last December, as Bullrich reached an agreement with the head of the Peronist bloc, José Mayans, to guarantee six members for the PJ, so the Justicialist Party decided to join these advisory bodies of the chamber, according to sources from the Argentine News Agency. The commissions must analyze the projects to draw up the respective opinions that are dealt with in the session room, which makes the presidencies of these bodies key to managing the agenda of the issues that will be promoted in the Senate. In this context, the ruling party already has three of the five commissions that were formed and will now add four more of the eight that will be formed between this Wednesday and Thursday.
One of the main commissions to be formed this Wednesday at 11:30 will be General Legislation, which will meet this Wednesday and elect LLA Senator Nadia Márquez as its president. On Wednesday, the Interior Security and Narcotrafficking Commission will also be constituted at 12:00, and will be chaired by the radical from Santa Fe, Carolina Losada. The Agriculture Commission was called for Thursday at 10:00, and the presidency will go to the libertarian Joaquín Benegas Lynch. On the same day, at 10:30, the Systems, Media and Freedom of Expression Commission will be constituted and will be chaired by the president of the Convicción Federal bloc, Carolina Moisés. The Tourism Commission was also convened for Thursday at 11:00, and will be led by the radical Mariana Jury. Another important commission will be constituted on Thursday at 11:30: National Defense, which will be led by libertarian Luis Juez. At 12:00, the Labor and Social Security Commission will meet, which will be led by libertarian Senator Carmen Alvarez Rivero. On the other hand, on Thursday the Administrative and Municipal Affairs and Sports commissions will be set up, with Daniel Kroneberger and Bruno Olivera Lucero (LLA) at the helm.
